I’ll go ahead and admit it: yes, we have a lot of weird stuff on our shelves at Randall’s. It can be downright overwhelming sometimes when you just stop and think about all the products we carry that a) you’ve never even heard of and b) you have absolutely no freakin’ clue what to do with even if you decided to buy a bottle.
Well, no worries because we are here to help!
This coming Friday at the Tasting Bar in our Manchester store from 3-5pm, we’re having Shannon from Vintegrity Wines stop on by and make some fabulous cocktails from some of the less mainstream (yet growing in popularity) spirits we carry. We’ll feature Barsol Pisco from Peru, Sombra Mezcal, Amaro Sibilla, Bitter Truth’s Apricot, and more!
What’s more, not only will you get a chance to try these products singly (and you simply must try them!), Shannon will be mixing them up into cocktails that will showcase these spirits and demonstrate their drink-worthiness beyond simple shots!
Here’s a preview of one of the drinks we’ll be sampling Friday afternoon:
- 1 oz Amaro Sibilla
- 11⁄2 oz primaterra pinot grigio
- 2 oz lemonade
Pour the ingredients in a drinking cup with plenty of ice. Add the lemonade and garnish with rosemary, slice of orange and cherry.

Mezcal Madness continues!
On Thursday, March 21st at 7:00pm in our Manchester Store, we’ll be having a tasting event featuring the single village mezcals of Del Maguey.
Randall’s Wines & Spirits invites you to become acquainted with this smoky, seductive spirit. Discover for yourself the complexities of Mezcal and how the people, the climate, and the land of Oaxaca contribute to its character. We’ll be sampling 5 different single village mezcals from Del Maguey, comparing and contrasting how each village approach differs from the others. We’ll also learn about Mezcal production and how it differs- and is similar to- Tequila.

Matt Lanning, from the Bitter Bar in Boulder Colorado, came up with this intriguing cocktail featuring Sombra Mezcal, Dolin Vermouth, and Yellow Chartreuse.
- 1.5 oz Sombra Mezcal
- .75 oz Dolin Blanc Vermouth
- .75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
- 2 dashes Grapefruit bitters (The Bitter Truth)
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Squeeze a grapefruit twist over the drink and use as a garnish.
