NEW ITEM IN STOCK!!! Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof. Ranging from 125 to 140 proof, it’s the distillery’s second offering in the Single Barrel Collection. What makes this one different? The interaction of the whiskey with the charred White American Oak barrels, and the fluctuations of the Lynchburg, Tennesse seasons brings out distinct flavor profiles from barrel to barrel.

The Nose: maple syrup, caramel sauce, and a little barrel char.

The Palate: rich caramel, butterscotch, a touch of cloves and a lengthy, vanilla-fueled finish.

Jefferson’s Bourbon – Chef’s Collaboration NOW 2015 IN STOCK IN FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS!

Jeffersons-122Chef’s Collaboration – A late night spent tasting some of chef Edward Lee’s culinary creations led Trey Zoeller, co-founder of Jefferson’s Bourbon, to the idea that someone should blend a bourbon that would pair well with the bold flavors in Chef Lee’s cookbook and other modern cuisine.

Without hesitation, Trey and Ed set forth. The result is a blend with a spicy upfront and a fruity finish, enhanced by the addition of rye whiskey into the mix.

Perfect with meals, for mixing cocktails or simply drinking neat.

Are you a Top or Bottom?

Does bourbon taste better when aged in wood from the top of the tree rather than the bottom? Buffalo Trace Distillery attempts to find out with the release of its thirteenth round of the Single Oak Project Bourbon. This release features bourbons which were all aged in barrels made from the top half of the tree, while keeping the other variables such as entry proof (at 125), and stave seasoning the same. The remaining variables, recipe (wheat or rye), grain size, warehouse type and char level vary. Every case will contain 12 bottles, each from a different barrel. The thirteenth release is made up of barrel numbers 11, 13, 43, 45, 75, 77, 107, 109, 139, 141, 171, and 173. Scheduled to arrive at the Manchester store today.

Jefferson 21yo Available in Fairview!

Jefferson’s Presidental Select 21 Year Old Bourbon is now available in limited supply in Fairview Heights!

From the Distiller:

jefferson-s-presidential-select-21-years-old-straight-bourbon-whiskey-kentucky-usa-10465120“Castle Brands is proud to introduce Jefferson’s Presidential Select 21 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the latest addition to its line of “Ridiculously Small Batch” whiskies and the Presidential Suite (Jefferson’s Bourbon, Jefferson’s Reserve, Jefferson’s Presidential Select and Jefferson’s Rye). Jefferson’s Presidential Select 21-Year-Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey is aged in new oak barrels for 21 to 24 years and bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV). Inspired by its namesake Founding Father, this mature, complex and exceptionally full-bodied aged Bourbon will be released nationally on April 1, 2013.

“This is precious bourbon since there are very few bottles of this age with this complexity,” says Jefferson’s founder and master blender Trey Zoeller. “This limited release whiskey aged beautifully. Because of the nuanced flavor profile, this Jefferson’s Presidential Select Straight Bourbon Whiskey is sure to become one of our most coveted bottlings.”

Jefferson’s Presidential Select 21-Year-Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey consists of 15 lots of bourbon aged from 21 to 24 years. Bourbon of this age is extremely fragile; Zoeller discovered that these stocks had aged undisturbed for many years in a cooler area of the warehouse, which added further nuance to the spirit’s flavor profile and engendered a later peak. The resulting blend is a uniquely robust and extremely flavorful bourbon with deep, concentrated notes of vanilla, toffee and leather that finishes extraordinarily smoothly. Because of the evaporation that occurred over the aging period, Jefferson’s will have just 2,000 cases to release of this rare, complex spirit that embodies a presidential combination of age, purity and strength.”

Stagg Jr. Now Available in Illinois

We just got our shipment in of Buffalo Trace’s latest and greatest, Stagg Jr.

George T. Stagg built the most dominant American distillery of the 19th

century, during a time known as the Gilded Age of Bourbon. Uncut and unfiltered, this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade and boasts the bold character that is reminiscent of the man himself.

Stagg Jr. is bottled at barrel-proof (the bottles we have are 67.2%) and is non-chill filtered. It’s younger than George T. Stagg, coming in at 8-9 years old, half that of its older, impossible to find brother.

Tasting notes from the distillery: “Rich, sweet, chocolate and brown sugar flavors mingle in perfect balance with the bold rye spiciness. The boundless finish lingers with hints of cherries, cloves and smokiness.”
