New Belgium Le Terrior is now in stock!

le terrior

Le Terroir is a french term meaning “of the earth.” Used to reference the environmental conditions that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity, and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break Natale Pretty Please With a Cherry On Top

Imperial Biscotti with Sour Cherries added
“The Holidays bring out the best in some people. However if the Holidays also is a tough one for you, this beer will definitely sweeten dark times by endless caroling and difficult domestic obligations. Did Imperial Biscotti Break also make your sugar levels rise and the bitter sweet flavors of coffee, almonds and chocolate very sentimental – this one has a sour cherry on tops. Forza Imperiale.”

Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve available in IL

beefeater-burroughs-reserve-ginHand-distilled in a copper still, in small batches, then rested in Jean de Lillet oak barrels, Beefeater calls this the ‘gin for free thinkers.’

Beefeater redefines the enjoyment of gin with the launch of Burrough’s Reserve. Distilled in a small historic copper still from the 19th century, the spirit is then uniquely rested in Jean de Lillet oak barrels. A very fine aperitif, Jean de Lillet is only created in exceptional vintage years, making its barrels the optimum resting place for an ultra-Premium gin.

Produced following the original Beefeater recipe, refined by the founder of Beefeater James Burrough in the 1860s, Burrough’s Reserve is distilled by hand using James Burrough’s original copper “Still Number 12”. With a capacity of only 268L, Still Number 12 produces such small batches that each bottle of Burrough’s Reserve displays its batch and bottle number on the label.

As one of the leading experts in gin with over 45 years’ experience, Master Distiller Desmond Payne explains, “I wanted to create something truly unique that celebrated the distilling heritage of Beefeater. I expect Burrough’s Reserve to appeal to free thinking individuals who enjoy challenging convention and exploring new sensory experiences with gin.”

Burrough’s Reserve is a permanent addition to Beefeater’s lineup, but will only be produced in limited quantities throughout the year. We have it now in Fairview Heights.

Limited Edition Scotch Available in Fairview Heights

Blue-Hanger-7th-Limited-Release-206x300Arriving in America for the first time, Anchor Distilling introduces Blue Hanger 7th Limited Release, a United States exclusive from Berry Bros. & Rudd Spirits. Limited to only 3,088 bottles, this new variant of Blue Hanger is comprised of the following whiskies; one hogshead of Bruichladdich 1992, one butt of Bunnahabhain 1990, four hogsheads of Miltonduff 1997, and two hogsheads of Bunnahabhain Moine (peated) 2006.

This blended malt whisky is named after William “Blue” Hanger, the Third Lord Coleraine, a loyal customer of Berry Bros. at the end of the 18th
century. Considered one of the best-dressed men of his day, his nickname
came from his preferred clothing color. Blue Hanger was originally a blended Scotch whisky intended for the diplomatic export market in 1934, but disappeared for a period of time until 2003 when Doug McIvor, spirits
manager, began his experiments in vatting malts. His objective from the beginning has been to create the best blended malt possible from existing stock.

“This exceptional and very limited blended malt turned out as impeccably as its namesake William ‘Blue’ Hanger,” says Doug McIvor. “Bewitching aromas of orange peel, melon skin, vanilla and peat-smoke tangle with hints of sandalwood, leather and moist pipe tobacco augmenting the experience. The smokiness is firm but not dominant, allowing the fruit notes to frolic. The palate is luscious and complex, building with sweet fruity intensity and finishing with lingering peat-smoke and a spicy edge.”

As with every expression of Blue Hanger, the strength is 45.6%, in recognition of the original Berry Bros. blend, which was bottled at 20 below proof. Blue Hanger 7 is only available in the United States.

Our Fairview store has a limited number of them in stock.
