ABOUT THE PUPPY
This young pup was just rescued on December 21st from deplorable conditions inside an abandoned home. He was found with his brother and overly protective mom, who would not let rescuers get close. The Stray Rescue team had to cleverly set a food trap for the mom in order to locate any possible puppies she had nearby. Going into the abandoned home, they found two tiny puppies living amongst garbage. Surprisingly, the puppies were very plump and healthy, so kudos to mama for taking care of her babies! ABOUT STRAY RESCUE
Founded in 1998 by Randy Grim, Stray Rescue has been saving the underdog for over twenty years. Randy rescued homeless and abused dogs off the streets and realized there were no other resources available to help them. The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization opened its first shelter in Lafayette Square on 18th Street. Randy purchased the building with his life savings. For nearly two decades, Randy’s unwavering commitment to saving the dogs that other shelters turned away has resulted in thousands of lives being saved from the horrors of street life before being adopted by their loving families. In July of 2010, Stray Rescue of St. Louis moved into a much larger facility in downtown St. Louis. With the new space, the organization added a trauma center and vet clinic, offices for administration, and over one hundred large, clean dog kennels. Fast forward to 2020 – Stray Rescue of St. Louis has grown to be the home of over 60 committed and loving staff members, over 1,000 volunteers who generously donate their time, and more than 400 foster families who open their home and ultimately are the reason Stray Rescue can save so many animals today. Stray Rescue always sticks up for the underdog, whether that be skinny, malnourished animals living on the streets, a dog with neurological issues living in a high-kill shelter, victims of hurricanes or flooding whose families left them behind, and more. There are no limits to what Stray Rescue can do. With your help and support, the sky is the limit.
