Stillwater Saison Darkly
This black saison carries qualities similar to a stout with light roast and burnt sugar flavors, spiced with Rose Hips, Hibiscus, & Schisandra berries.
Human history is filled with myths and legends that shape and define our culture. Rituals, celebrations, gatherings.. whatever. One thing that’s for sure, is we enjoy a proper shindig. So let’s get the stories flowing and share a little ’Folklore’. A bracingly deep ale, built dark and rich with an elegantly lean body, accompanied by heady aromas of Belgian yeast, earthy hops and gently kissed by a wisp of smoke.
The French Connection Stillwater has been collaborating up a storm in Europe, with Italy, Spain, and France. His new collaboration with 3 different breweries in France is called “The French Connection
Traditional. A classification for the farmhouse ales of France and their sometimes-untraditional new-world counterparts. Bière de Garde is today generally a warm fermented strong pale ale – sometimes blonde, sometimes amber, and has much in common with Belgium ales. Medium bodied with hints of caramel or toffee. Cellared smell and flavor are characteristics. The name means “beer for keeping.
Initially only available on draft. Draft version brewed in Irvine, bottled version brewed in San Jose.
Our Tripel pours a hazy deep gold with a creamy head. Upfront aromas of fresh plums, orange, white flowers and a hint of hay evolve into aromas of caramel malt and cola as the glass warms. A very balanced flavor profile and a creamy mouthfeel lead into a light malt sweetness with a final transition into a hint of warming alcohol and soft drying bitterness.
Calvados Coquerel Fine
Normandy has been famous for its apples for thousands of years. One myth from the ancient Gauls claimed that Venus sowed the seeds of the first apple orchards in the region. Calvados is believed to date back to the 16th century when distillers of wine began experimenting with cider, the traditional drink of Normandy. Then in 1588, a ship from the Spanish Armada ran aground in Normandy. It’s name, “El Calvador” became the namesake for this fine product. Located near the timeless Mont Saint Michel, Domaine du Coquerel was founded in 1937. It takes over 13 pounds of apples to make a 750 milliliter bottle of Calvados Coquerel. It is the #2 Calvados in the world. Coquerel Fine is a blend of calvados aged a minimum of 3 years. It makes a fine aperitif, digestif, and is also an excellent ingredient for cocktails.
From their website: “Krome is the culmination of a quest to find the world’s best vodka. After a yearlong search, it turned out that the best vodka was being hand crafted right here in the United States, in Bend, Oregon. Born of Cascade Mountain spring water and locally grown corn, Krome Vodka starts with superior ingredients. It is then filtered five times through charcoal and crushed volcanic rock. Corn provides the vodka with a heft that can’t be found in a rye or wheat vodka and a sweetness that can’t be found in potato vodka. The ultra-clean Cascade Mountain spring water and thorough filtration process gives Krome its incredible smoothness. This combination of first-rate ingredients and hand-craftsmanship make Krome Vodka a world-class spirit.”
